The Midget AA Ice Wolves entered the 2005-06 campaign with only two third year players, six second years and a great crop of rookies. The Wolves opened at home by getting shellacked 6-1 at the hands of the Cornwall Typhoons, but ended by downing those same Typhoons 4-3 in overtime to claim the Ottawa District Women's Hockey Association Midget Championship.
The Wolves entered six Midget AA tournaments and captured the gold medal at the Scarborough Sharks tournament in January.
Two of the most talented Ice Wolves players, all-world goalie Genevieve Lacasse and defensive stalwart Liz Matheson, have chosen to attend Lake Forest Academy this season. We will greatly miss them, and we wish them every success in the future.
